Iran busts 167kg of methamphetamine near Afghan border
Birjand, Iranian police forces seized 167 kilograms of methamphetamine, smuggled from Afghanistan.
Commander of police forces in northeastern South Khorasan Province Brigadier General Majid Shoa says the industrial drugs were detected inside a gas truck.
This big methamphetamine cargo was produced in Afghanistan, the police official said, adding that five people have been detained in connection.
He said that more than 400 kilograms of this stimulant drug have been busted in the province that shares a border with Afghanistan.
Earlier, AntiNarcotics Police Chief, Brigadier General Mohammad Masoud Zahedian warned that Afghanistan will turn into the first methamphetamine producer in the world in future.
