Iran calls for cartographic work with Germany’s Hanover
Tehran, Iran National Cartography Center on Tuesday called for satellite mapping cooperation with the German University of Hanover.
The suggestion was made at a meeting with an academic delegation from the German university with the Iranian organization's senior officials.
Referring to the scientific, technical cooperation with France, Head of Iran National Cartography Center, Masoud Shafiei, expressed willingness to establish similar links with the German University as well.
He described the Iranian organization as an influential player in Asia with 66 years of activity and many mapping cooperation links with the Asian and European counterparts.
The official at the same time said that there was a gap in information sphere, particularly with regard to crisis management, adding that the network of geodynamic stations in Iran had turned into a challenge as they are in need of getting updated.
The German delegation also expressed willingness for cooperation with Iran and said that the prospect of such cooperation on location mapping looked promising.
