Tehran, Top Iranian commander on Wednesday urged the regional and western countries to cooperate with Iran in fighting drug trafficking.
Western countries' cooperation with Iran in fighting drug trafficking is necessary, Iranian Border Guards Commander Brigadier General Qasem Rezaei told reporters.
He noted that the drug traffickers have changed their traditional approach for transfer of drug on soil and noted that they are using the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea now.
Participation of all regional countries in joint operation against the drug traffickers is necessary, the commander said.
He referred to seizure of 53 tons of various types of drug in eastern borders, and said that if the western countries are concerned about the transfer of drug to their borders, they should help Iran.
