Iran, China reiterate JCPOA support against US unilateralism
London, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali-Akbar Salehi and Director of the China Atomic Energy Authority Zhang Kejian underlined supporting Iran Deal against the US unilateralism.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 62nd Annual Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference.
Both sides discussed cooperation in the nuclear, refinery, training and security fields.
Kejian described the Iran-China relations as 'strategic.'
Meanwhile, Salehi referred to various meetings held between heads of China and Iran, saying developing bilateral relations have always been discussed during the meetings.
He expressed happiness over the positive step taken within framework of the Iran nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
The project to modernize Arak heavy-water reactor project enjoys adequate progress, Salehi said, hailing China cooperation in that regard.
Maintaining cooperation in building the small- and medium-sized reactors in Iran was also discussed during the meeting.
Kejian, for his part, underlined mutual cooperation in the trade and energy fields and China's support for the JCPOA.
He described Arak reactor modernization project as multilateral in nature.
The 62nd IAEA conference began in Vienna on Monday and will go on for four days.
