Iran comdr urges regional countries to help stop West’s hegemony
Tehran, April 24, Iran will not let the Western countries to get the upper-hand, Deputy Commander of Iranian Army for coordination Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said.
Rear Admiral Sayyari made the remarks Tuesday in a meeting with Pakistan Navy Commander Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi which was held on the sidelines of the 6th Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS 2018) underway in Tehran.
Iran and Pakistan have historical and religious commonalities and both nations know each other very well, he said.
'We should behave intelligently and not to permit others influence our ties,' Admiral Sayyari added.
Iran and Pakistan can promote cooperation level in education field, he noted.
'We have to have closer cooperation in information exchange, especially in those areas affecting border security,' Admiral Sayyari added.
He also called for cooperation in border security, joint drills and exchanging sports teams.
Iran is against Global Arrogance's new strategy to call Pakistan supporter of terrorism while the country have had many blows from terrorism, Admiral Sayyari said.
Western countries are after imposing their ideas and hegemony, he reiterated.
Meanwhile, Mahmood Abbasi said Iran is an Islamic country and there are many commonalities between Iran and Pakistan.
IONS created a suitable opportunity for promoting ties, he said.
We should develop relations through education and holding joint military exercises, he added.
The strategic position of Iran and Pakistan makes both countries develop cooperation, Abbasi said.
