Iran condoles with Tanzania over Lake Victoria ferry disaster
Tehran, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Friday condoled with Tanzanian government and nation over deadly ferry tragedy in Lake Victoria.
A large boat was carrying some 400 to 500 passengers between two islands in Lake Victoria when it suddenly capsized.
At least 80 passengers lost their lives in the incident and there is no immediate information about the fate of hundreds of other passengers on board the vessel.
Rescue workers only managed to save the lives of 37 passengers because of improper weather conditions.
