Iran defense minster to visit China
Tehran, Iran's minister of defense is scheduled to visit China at the head of a high-level defense delegation at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart for talks on development of mutual cooperation.
Brigadier General Amir Hatami will meet China's minister of defense, and number of other military and political officials to discuss regional and international developments, as well as bilateral defense relations, besides touring some Chinese military and industrial units.
During his visit, Brigadier General Hatami who doubles as secretary of the development department of the Makran Coasts will meet with a number of economic officials of the People's Republic of China.
The defense cooperation between the two countries began after the victory of Islamic Revolution in 1979 and has continued to grow, especially after the 2015 Iran nuclear deal with six world powers.
Following a visit to Tehran of the Chinese minister of defense in November 2016 and the signing of an agreement on defense and military cooperation between the two countries, bilateral relations entered a new stage and the visit of the Iranian minister to China can serve to further expand Tehran-Beijing cooperation in the interest of the two countries.
