Iran dy FM, Afghan president meet, confer in Kabul
Tehran, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Afghanistan's President Ashraf Ghani met and conferred over a wide range of issues in Kabul on Saturday.
The two officials discussed the significance of ties between Tehran and Kabul, the process of intra-Afghan talks, and ways to make a better use of southeastern Iranian Port of Chabahar, Afghanistan's TOLOnews reported.
The Iranian official briefed the Afghan president on a recent meeting between Iranian officials and a visiting delegation from Taliban, and assured that Iran will help Afghan peace process to remain intra-Afghan talks.
The two sides also reiterated further coordination in all areas so as to yield influential results.
Araqchi had also visited Kabul a month ago when he had met and conferred with the country's president, chief executive and other high-ranking officials.
Earlier this week, Araqchi met with a delegation from Afghanistan's Taliban group. Iran's Foreign Ministry said Afghan government was informed about the meeting which was aimed to convince Taliban to engage in intra-Afghan talks.
