Iran economic delegation arrives in Damascus
Damascus, Iranian economic delegation headed by deputy minister of road and urban development Amir Amini arrived in the Syrian capital Sunday night.
The trip is aimed at exchanging economic cooperation between Iran and Syria.
Iranian delegation is to follow up a previous MoU on promoting of the economic cooperation between the two countries which had been signed by Minister of Road and Urban Development Abbas Akhundi three months ago.
The Iranian officials will discuss finalizing the MoU with Syrian counterparts.
In order to open a new chapter in the field of Iran-Syria economic ties, members of the Iranian delegation are to sign a long-term agreement on bilateral cooperation.
Both sides will focus on banking and customs cooperation.
Reviewing bilateral cooperation in industrial and information and technology fields as well as studying water distribution system, electricity network and reconstructing Syria infrastructure are among the purposes of the trip.
Paving the way for holding Iran-Syria upcoming high economic commission is also one of the most important programs to be discussed during meetings of the officials of the countries.
