Iran FM receives New Zealand deputy FM
Tehran, Iranian foreign minister on Monday received the New Zealand deputy minister of foreign affairs and trade.
During the meeting, Mohammad Javad Zarif and Jeff Langley discussed implementation of the nuclear deal reached between Iran and the world powers in July 2015.
Zarif and Langley conferred on regional issues, including fighting terrorism and extremism.
US President Donald Trump mounted pressure on Iran and on May 8 announced that Washington would withdraw from Iran's nuclear deal and would re-impose nuclear-related sanctions on the country.
This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and the European Union, have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of the world peace and security.
