Iran FM to visit Pakistan Thursday

Tehran, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Wednesday that Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is to depart for Islamabad on Thursday for talks with officials of Pakistan's new government.

According to a report by Foreign Ministry Media Department, Zarif is to discuss ways of expanding bilateral ties and cooperation with Pakistani officials.

Zarif will also hold talks with new Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Qasemi said.

The spokesman said that meetings with National Assembly speaker, president of Senate, foreign minister, Commander in-Chief of the army and minister of economy and finance are on Zarif's agenda during his stay in Pakistan.
