Iran FM’s aide to visit Lebanon on Monday
Beirut, Senior Assistant to Foreign Minister Hossein Jaberi Ansari is to visit Lebanon on Monday to convey message of President Hassan Rouhani.
During his one day visit in Beirut, Jaberi Ansari is to submit message of President Hassan Rouhani to his Lebanese counterpart Michel Aoun.
A senior diplomat in Iran's embassy in Beirut told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that Jaberi visit to Lebanon is in the framework of the recent visits of Iranian diplomats and characters to different countries on the issue of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and its related developments.
Aide to the supreme leader for international affairs Ali Akbar Velayati recently visited Moscow and Beijing.
Deputy Foreign Minister for political affairs Abbas Araqchi is to travel to India on Monday.
According to the embassy, Rouhani in his message explained Iran's approaches and actions concerning JCPOA, especially following the US disloyalty in exiting from the deal.
Lebanon has close relations with Iran and is among critics of the US exit from nuclear deal.
Jaberi Ansari is to hold separate meetings with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister commissioned to form government Saad al-Hariri and Foreign Minister Gibran Bassil.
He met with President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus on Sunday.
