Iran, France shoulder heavy responsibility in JCPOA
Tehran, Vice President for Women and Family Affairs said that Iran and France have a heavy responsibility in promoting international cooperation, especially in the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Masoumeh Ebtekar made the remarks in the meeting with parliamentary friendship groups at the national parliaments and Senate of France on Monday.
'Iran and France have historic relations and the two countries share cultural, social and economic interests.'
She argued that the international agreement dubbed as JCPOA was accompanied by a resolution of the UN Security Council and with an international consensus to promote regional peace and security and provided the ground for economic cooperation and many other goals of the countries, such as human, women, the environment and the family.
Ebtekar added, The agreement now faces a serious challenge from the United States, and, moreover, the United States has opposed an agreement between Paris and UNESCO, and recently it has withdrawn from another agreement, which is in line with the exit from international agreements.
Vice President for Women and Family Affairs said that all countries that want peace, counterterrorism and insecurity should work together to make these important international agreements and multilateralism strengthened in the country. Of course, France plays a major role in this regard, to prevent US unilateralism.
