Iran helping Afghanistan on blood transfusion
Tehran, July 19, IRNA Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization announced Wednesday that it was helping the neighboring country Afghanistan establish a national blood transfusion organization.
Ali Akbar Pourfathollah added on Wednesday that Iran Blood Transfusion Organization in pursuit of the aim has instructed the Afghan staff and sent technical advisors upon a request from regional office of the World Health Organization.
Holding short educational courses and workshops for blood transfusion staff in Afghanistan and visits by the head of Iranian organization and Minister of Health are among other cooperation grounds between the two countries.
Pourfathollah heading a delegation of experts from the blood transfusion organization has travelled to Afghanistan.
The visit is aimed to implement the memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and Afghanistan Ministries of Health, and is being paid at the same time with Iran's Health Minister visit to the eastern neighboring country.
Hassan Hashemi is visiting Afghanistan to expand cooperation on medical and healthcare services.
