Iran, Iraq agree to develop Samarra
Baghdad, Feb 7, IRNA � Iranian envoy to Iraq Iraj Masjedi and governor general of Salahudin province Raed al-Jabouri agreed on investing in the economic development of Samarra City.
Masjedi congratulated the Iraqi government and people on their victories against Daesh terrorists, stressing on the fact that Iran is standing by Iraq in reconstruction of Iraq.
Iran will also participate in reconstruction of Samarra and Tikrit, he said.
Iran cooperation with Iraq is not limited to southern provinces but will include Salahudin as well, Masjedi added.
He referred to 4 million Iranian pilgrims visiting Iraq annually and also 1,850,000 passengers visiting Samarra, saying building infrastructures and preparing accommodations in Samarra will play major role in developing economy.
He also pointed to upcoming trip slated to be made by an Iranian economic delegation to Samarra, saying it aims to prepare the grounds and investment in agricultural, industrial and tourism fields.
Meanwhile, al-Jabouri referred to Iran supports of territorial integrity in Iraq, saying we will never forget Iran's aids in putting an end to Daesh terrorists.
Security grounds have been prepared for investment in Samarra, Dujail and Balad, he said.
