Iran, Iraq unanimous in strengthening ties
Baghdad, National Security advisor to the Iraqi government, Faleh Fayyaz said on Thursday that Iran and Iraq agree to promote all-out ties and remove obstacles in the way of developing relations.
After a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi, Fayyaz told reporters that Tehran and Baghdad favor enhancement of ties in political, economic and cultural fields.
He further noted that during his meeting with Masjedi, he discussed avenues for boosting of mutual relations in different fields.
Appreciating Iranian Embassy's efforts in this respect, he said, We are backing the efforts to help promote mutual relations.
Fayyaz, also head of Iraqi Popular Forces Organization stressed that his country will support any move to help enhance bilateral ties, regional stability, promote security and peace and fight terrorism.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed various issues such as bilateral ties and Iraqi and regional developments.
Iran's Ambassador to Iraq Masjedi also told reporters in Baghdad that they explored avenues for expansion of relations in the economic and commercial domains during the meeting.
