Iran, Kazakhstan can cooperate on cinema: Minister
Tehran, Aug 9, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Reza Salehi-Amiri said Iran and Kazakhstan have the potential for cooperation in the field of cinema.
In a meeting with his Kazakh counterpart Sultanov on Tuesday, he recalled Iranian cinema's capacities, saying that the 7th art has brought the country many international awards.
Iranians are very interested in films and cinema has turned into a discourse in Iran, he said, noting that the two countries can have mutual cooperation in different cultural and artistic fields such as music, theater, book and visual arts.
Holding cultural weeks and mutual visits can play a crucial role in promoting cultural ties between the two nations, he said.
Kazakh Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports Sultanov, for his part, said that cooperation in the field of cinema is essential and Iran's cinema is forerunner in the world.
Translation of the world's top art works helps nations get further acquainted with each other and certain international works are currently being translated into six languages in Kazakhstan, he said.
The 5th International Congress on religion will be held in Kazakhstan next year, the minister added.
