Iran offers condolences over former Indian PM death

Tehran, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif sent a message of condolence on Friday over the death of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

The former Indian PM who was suffering from illness passed away in a hospital in New Delhi on Thursday.

He was one of the charismatic and influential Indian politicians, and one of the moderate senior members of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

BJP is currently the ruling party in India.

Vajpayee was a three-time Prime Minister, who initiated some economic reforms in India to improve the country's ties with Pakistan.
