Iran offers condolences to Niger over deadly explosion

Tehran, Iran's Foreign Ministry expressed sympathy with Nigerien people and government over the explosion of a fuel tanker in the country.

The incident claimed the lives of at least 55 people and injured 37 others. Local people were trying to collect fuel leaking from a truck that had overturned when the tanker went off, witnesses said.

Abbas Mousavi, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman expressed sadness over the explosion in Niamy, the capital city of the country.

He offered condolences to the families of the victims and sympathized with them.
