Iran official urges Europe not to bow to US bullying
Tehran, Iran's Department of Environment chief Isa Kalantari slammed US President Donald Trump's recent remarks on not joining global consensus on reducing plastic waste and urged the EU states not to bow to the US bullying.
Speaking in a meeting with Norway Ambassador to Tehran Lars Nordrum, he called on the European countries not to tolerate the US behavior and not to submit to US President.
Referring to Iran's history, Kalantari said that Iranians have never been aggressors, but they have always been victim of terrorism.
Emphasizing the impact of global decisions on environment, he said based on its commitments, Iran reduced carbon production.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Kalantari underlined the environmental cooperation between Iran and Norway.
Meanwhile, Nordrum expressed concern over environmental development in the world, saying global warming, climate change and plastic pollution are Norway's major concerns.
Unlike US, Norway will not sanction environment and environmental technologies.
He reiterated the fact that Norway will maintain cooperation with Iran.
