Iran police confiscates 372 tons of narcotics
Karaj, Iranian Anti-Narcotics Police says some 372 tons of narcotic drugs, especially opium, have been discovered since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21).
Brigadier Masoud Zahedian made the remarks in a meeting with military attaches of the Tehran-based embassies on Sunday.
The number of operations, confiscations and discoveries has experienced growth this year, he said.
Over 810 tons of narcotics were discovered by police and security forces last year, he reiterated.
Zahedian went on to say that Iran is pioneering fighting illegal drugs.
