Iran, Portugal draw in 2018 World Cup

Tehran, Iran national football team draws 1-1 with Portuguese team in 2018 World Cup held in Saransk, Russia on Monday.

In the last moments of the first half, Portugal scored a goal to Iran to take the half-time lead.

In the second half Iranian goal keeper Beioranvand guessed right and collected the penalty shot by Ronaldo.

Karim Ansarifard scored the equalizer on a penalty kick in stoppage time after a hand ball by Portugal, but despite its 1-1 draw the Iranian team could not make it to the next round of the World Cup competions.

Portugal advanced to the second round of the World Cup after a 1-1 draw with Iran. Iran got a late equalizer after a borderline penalty call on review, but couldn't find one more goal in the last minutes.

Iran's team against Portugal comprised Beiranvand, Rezaeian, Hosseini, Pouraliganji, Hajsafi, Taremi, Jahanbakhsh, Ezzatollahi, Ebrahimi, Azmoon and Amiri.
