Iran president: Miscalculation, main reason for US hostility against Iran
New Delhi, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday that miscalculation and failing to keep promises are among the main reasons behind US hostile approach towards Iran.
President Rouhani, who is on an official visit to India, made the remarks during an address at New Delhi's Observer Research Foundation.
'The elite should answer the question why the war does not end and why there is still fear from terrorism and extremism and many such other things in today's world,' the president said.
Noting that many unpleasant issues of the world originate from miscalculation, President Rouhani said that the form of US relations with Iran is an example of this kind of miscalculation.
From the very beginning of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the US decided to topple the revolution, but it was then forced to express regret in many different occasions, the president said.
Today after so many losses by the US which was the result of miscalculation, a newcomer has come to the scene who is dreaming about new plots, the president added.
He said that the outcome of miscalculation was that the US has failed to adopt sound policies in dealing with Iran.
