Iran producing indigenous sports equipment for disabled
Shahr-e-Kord, President of Iran's Sport Federation for the disabled said that the sanctions enabled Iran to produce domestic-made equipment for the disabled athletes.
Hamid Ali Samimi, speaking in an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), said, The premium quality equipments were manufactured by a knowledge-based subsidiary company of Ministry of Defense.
Sanctions have enabled us to produce indigenous equipment for veterans and disabled sportsmen and sportswomen, he added.
Samimi said, Track and Field starter blocks and clappers, throwing equipment, and javelins have been designed and produced. Wheelchairs have passed the design stage and are waiting for final verifications. Also the design process for producing ramps for boccia has been initiated, he said.
