Iran protests terrorists sneaking into country from Iraqi Kurdistan
Erbil, Iran's Consullate General in Erbil expressed Tehran's protest against the infiltration of terrorist grouplets into the country from the Iraqi Kurdistan region.
Tehran's protest note was delivered during a meeting between a delegation from Iran's Consulate General in Erbil and an official at the region's Department of Foreign Affairs Siham Mamand.
In the note, Iran expressed its official protest against the recent terrorist moves in some parts of joint border areas with the Iraqi Kurdistan region in northwest of Iran.
In the meeting, the Iranian delegation declared that the country's armed forces have legitimate right to defend its territory and fight against the threat.
For her part, Mamand said the Iraqi Kurdistan is determined to deepen ties with Iran.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the recent terrorist events, she stressed that the Iraqi Kurdistan will surely not let its positive and constructive relations with Iran be affected by such moves.
Mamand added the Iraqi Kurdistan will not endanger its interests for the sake of any groups or parties.
Recently, three terrorist groups tried to enter Iran from the country's northwestern borders.
According to the Iranian military officials, the groups were busted, 13 of their members were killed and several others wounded.
