Iran runner wins 100-m at Sweden League

Tehran, Iranian runner Hassan Taftian ranked first in the 100-meter category of Stockholm Diamond League held in Sweden on Sunday.

Iran's Taftian with the record of 10.7 seconds won the game.

Taftian has won several medals so far including gold in 100 meters at the 2012 Asian Junior Athletics Championships in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The 2018 Stockholm Bauhaus Athletics held at the historical Stockholm Olympic Stadium, is a leading track and field meeting and the largest annual sporting event in Sweden.

Last July, Taftian became the first Iranian to ever win gold in 100 meters in an Asian athletics championships after finishing at 10.25 seconds at the 2017 Asian Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar, India.

He also bagged a gold medal in the 60m category at the Asian Indoor and Martial Art Games in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan in 2017.
