Iran security forces seize large drug cargos

Tehran, Iranian security forces in two separate operations seized two big drug cargos in the southeastern and southern provinces.

Following an undercover operation, the security forces confiscated one tone plus 660 kilograms of opium from a truck in the southern province of Hormuzgan, Intelligence Ministry said in a report released on Monday.

According to the report, the haul of drugs was disguised as a rice cosignment in the truck, which came from the southern province to the central provinces.

In a separate operation in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, two tones and 200 kilograms of opium were seized after two hours lengthy clashes with the armed drug traffickers.
