Iran seeking to promote its handicraft industry
Tehran, Iran has the capacity to produce and sell about 2 billion dollars worth of handicrafts annually, the Iranian vice president said on Saturday.
With the increased support of government, sale of handicrafts inside the country and its exports abroad can reach about two billion dollars annually in the near future, the Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Ali Asghar Monesan told reporters.
Iran exported 32 million dollars worth of handicrafts in the first two months of this Iranian calendar year (March 21-May 21, 2018) which shows a 66 percent growth compared to the similar period the previous year, he noted.
