Iran-Switzerland to begin scientific cooperation soon

Tehran, Iran's National Science Foundation announced that scientific cooperation with Switzerland will commence within a month.

Head of the foundation Nusratullah Zargham told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Monday that a Swiss delegation has expressed readiness to begin cooperation with Iran on science and education.

The delegation has recently visited Iran upon an invitation from Iranian Minister of Science Mansour Gholami.

The minister in a recent meeting with Mauro Dell'Ambrogio, Swiss State Secretary for Education, Research and Innovation has said Iran's international scientific policies are focused on joint projects.

At the meeting the two sides also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on scientific cooperation.

Noting that the Iranian foundation is exploring the main scientific cooperation area with a view to meeting the country's needs, Zargham told IRNA that technical knowledge transfer and researcher exchange are among the fields of cooperation between Iran and Switzerland.
