Iran to start helping reconstruction of Iraq with Kuwait confab: Envoy
BaghdadTehran will start its aid for reconstruction of Iraq at Kuwait conference, Iran ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi said.
Masjedi made the remarks Friday in a meeting with Iranian families residing in Baghdad.
A big Iranian economic delegation headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif is to attend a conference slated to be held in Kuwait within days, he said.
After defeating Daesh and establishing stability and security in Iraq, Iran is now ready to reconstruct the war-torn areas in the country, he said.
Iran has turned into a developed country which enjoys good security and has good political and economic ties with regional and world countries.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported Iraqi government and people since the fall of Former President of Iraq Saddam Hussein, Masjedi added.
The International conference on reconstruction of Iraq is slated to be held on February 23-25 in Kuwait.
