Iran trains 1100 Iraqi firefighters

Tehran, Some 1100 firefighters have been trained by Iran in firefighting as well as other emergency cases which might occur at Iraqi oil refineries, Deputy Tehran's Mayor in charge of physical training for firefighters Maid Around said on Monday.

Tehran's municipality will also render similar training courses for firefighters of other countries, he said.

This center could be source of foreign exchange income for the country through setting up training courses for firefighters of other countries, he said.

Some 16,000 firefighters are working in Iran and about some one third of them work in Tehran, he said.
