Iran, Turkey discuss academic cooperation promotion
Ankara, Heads of Iranian and Turkish leading universities discussed ways of boosting scientific and educational relations between the two countries.
In a meeting centered on professors and students exchange, as well as holding joint educational and research courses, the two sides discussed ways of promoting their scientific capacities and research, educational cooperation between the higher education institutions of Iran and Turkey.
The meeting was an initiative of Iran's University of Tabriz that is in charge of promoting scientific cooperation with Turkey.
Chancellors of a number of Iranian universities including, University of Tehran, Sharif University of Technology, University of Esfahan and Tarbiat Modares Univeristy, talked with the heads of Turkish universities.
Mahmoud Nili, head of University of Tehran, noted that promotion of international cooperation among Iranian universities and those of other countries is a priority on Iran's Ministry of Science, Research and Technology agenda.
In the two-day meeting in Istanbul, the Iranian and Turkish sides signed several memoranda of understanding.
