Iran: UAE looking for hypothetical enemy
Tehran, The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other countries having fundamental role in human crisis in Yemen, are seeking hypothetical enemy after their repeated defeats in the country, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Monday.
Speaking at his weekly press conference, Qasemi made the remarks in response to recent claims by UAE foreign minister about Ansarullah attacks on Saudi tankers in Bab el-Mandeb Strait being linked to Iran's former threats to block Hormuz Strait in the Persian Gulf.
Despite Iran's constructive and positive view on broadening relations with its neighbors, the UAE foreign minister raises unacceptable remarks every now and then, Qasemi said.
The Yemeni people are resistant people who defended their country in every situation and are reliant on their own weapons, the spokesman added.
Iran has repeatedly announced that it has no role in the dispatch of arms and forces to Yemen and that such allegations are merely seeking to divert the public attention and the UAE has to change its false behavior as soon as possible, Qasemi said.
