Iran, UK discuss importance of reviving ties
London, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali-Akbar Salehi and head of the UK delegation to the 62nd Annual Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference reviewed the importance of reviving and developing relations between their countries.
The importance of promoting ties in the fields of trade and economy and the role of England as a substitute for the US in modernizing Arak Heavy Water Production Plant were among other topics discussed by the two sides.
They also reviewed students' exchange and holding training workshops in the field of nuclear technology.
Salehi urged the UK government to take advantage of the JCPOA opportunity for developing ties with Iran.
Iran's expectation of the UK for playing effective role in Arak Heavy Water Production Plant project and encouraging British small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) to enter Iranian market were among other topics reviewed by the officials.
Meanwhile, the British envoy Robin Grimes reiterated the UK commitment to the JCPOA.
He referred to the UK substitution in the project for modernizing Arak project as indication of the UK commitment to Iran Deal.
Grimes expressed happiness over the IAEA reports verifying Iran compliance with the JCPOA and extended readiness for promoting bilateral cooperation in other fields.
