Iran underlines developing ties with INCB
London, Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Envoy to International Organizations in Vienna, Austria, Kazem Gharibabadi stressed promoting relations with International Narcotics Control Board (INCB).
Gharibabadi made the remarks in a meeting with Viroj Sumyai, President of the INCB.
He also emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between the two sides.
During the meeting which was held to discuss promoting joint cooperation including INCB support for Iran antinarcotics plans, both sides also highlighted boosting exchange of experiences and cooperation especially in discovering precursor and industrial drugs.
Expressing Iran's support for INCB role, Gharibabadi officered concerns over illegal measures taken by some countries in legalizing some drugs which are being controlled by INCB.
He also underscored the importance of INCB expert role in controlling narcotics in the framework of international regulations.
The International Narcotics Control Board is the independent and quasijudicial control organ for the implementation of the United Nations drug conventions. It plays an important role in monitoring enforcement of restrictions on narcotics and psychotropics and in deciding which precursors should be regulated
