Iran urges launch of a powerful technological region
Baku, All should make efforts to establish a powerful region in technology, Iran's minister of information and communications technology said in the Azeri capital on Wednesday evening.
Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi is in Baku for the 24th Azerbaijan International Telecommunications, Innovations and High Technologies Exhibition and Conference on December 4-7.
In an interview with the Azeri AzTV on Wednesday evening, the Iranian minister said that Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkey have decided to make a powerful region in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
Azari-Jahromi said the decision was made by the four countries' ministers of communications at a quadrilateral meeting held in Baku on Tuesday.
Regional countries should technologically progress like what Iran does in the ICT area, said the minister adding that the move would lead to repairing digital rift in the region.
Earlier, Azari-Jahromi also delivered speech to the Baku Caspian Innovation Conference 2018 on Wednesday, criticizing the US for its unilateral policies.
Unfortunately a single country is addicted to unilateral sanctions, but everybody knows who is promoting stability, and who is promoting disorder.
