Iran waiting for Europe’s practical measures to save JCPOA
Tehran, Noting that issuing a joint statement by G4+1 in support of Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA) is a positive step, Hossein Naqavi Hosseini, a senior Iranian Member of Parliament said on Tuesday that the Europeans are expected to take practical measures to show their commitment to JCPOA.
Speaking exclusively with Islamic Republic News Agency, Naqavi Hosseini, a member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said that issuing a statement is good but it would not resolve any problems.
He referred to France that says it remains committed to the JCPOA as a member of G4+1, while the French oil giant Total and the country's major automaker Peugeot are going out of Iran.
A foreign ministerial meeting of Iran and G4+1 France, Russia, China, Britain and Germany was held in New York on Monday night local time on the sidelines of the 73rd UN General Assembly session.
The meeting was of great significance as it demonstrated the support of Europe, China and Russia for Iran and the JCPOA right before US instrumental use of the UN Security Council to pressure Iran.
