Iran wins 2018 Men’s Sitting Volleyball World Champs

Tehran, Iranian team ranked first in the 2018 Men's Sitting Volleyball World Championships tournament held in the Netherlands.

In the final match, the Iranian squad hit Bosnia and Herzegovina, the former's rival of 20 years, in three straight sets and stood on the first place for the seventh time.

The Iranian men's squad advanced to the final match after defeating Japan, the Netherlands, Egypt and Ukraine.

Iran also received the first quota for 2020 Summer Paralympics.

The 2020 Summer Paralympics are an upcoming major international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities governed by the International Paralympic Committee.

Scheduled as the 16th Summer Paralympic Games, it is planned to be held in Tokyo, Japan from August 25, 2020-September 6, 2020. This will mark the second time that Tokyo has hosted the Paralympics, as they were first hosted there in 1964 alongside the 1964 Summer Olympics.
