Iranian athlete wins gold in para powerlifting

Tehran, Iranian athlete won the gold medal of Asia-Oceania Open Championship in Japan.

Siamand Rahman succeeded in winning the gold medal of para powerlifting on the last day of the competition in +107 kg by a 280 kg lift in the last round.

Mansour Poormirzaei, the other para powerlifiter from Iran, came the runner-up at the competition held in Kitakyushu.

Iranian athletes gained a total of two gold, five silver and two bronze medals at the championship.

The games as preliminary to Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games began on September 8 and were wrapped up on September 12.
