Iranian diplomat meets Tunisian president

Algiers, President Rouhan's special envoy Hossein Jaberi Ansari met Tunisian President Mohamed Beji Caid Essebsi on Wednesday to submit Rouhani's message to him.

Conveying Rouhani's warm greetings to his Tunisian counterpart, Ansari also discussed latest developments on the JCPOA and US unilateral withdrawal from it in violation of international reguations.

He also presented a report on Iran's measures to peacefully solve regional crises, reiterating Iran's firm resolve to help promote bilateral relations with Tunisia in political, cultural and economic fields.

Caid Essebsi, for his part, appreciated President Rouhani and hailed Iran's great culture, history and civilization, saying that Tunisia boasts of an independent foreign policy regarding regional and international issues.

He also hoped that the two countries' relations would improve on the basis of mutual interests.

Both sides also underlined significance of dialogue and setting aside differences in a bid to find diplomatic solutions to regional crises.
