Tehran Iranian filmmaker Saeed Nejati will join the international panel of jury at the 19th Izmir International Short Film Festival in Turkey which is scheduled to be held from October 30 to November 4.

Nejati received his masters of cinema from Soore University in Tehran.

He received awards from 6th Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival, Big Bang International Short Film Festival as well as a jury mention for 'It Rains Slowly' at the 21st Religion Today festival in Italy.

Three Iranian short films, 'Loop' by Omid Safaei (Competition section), 'Stonemaker' by Ali Navaeian, and 'Whole to Part' (Panorama section) by Vahid Hosseini-Nami, found their way to the Turkish festival.

According to a brief synopsis of 'Loop', the film's theme revolves around a boy who is grappling with a problem that creates trouble for his social interaction with others. However, things change when a traveler, who is ignorant about his problems, walks into the hotel. 'Whole to Part' tells the story of a dictator's iron statue. After people topple the statue and melt it into smaller objects, it continues to live among people in the form of smaller objects.

Last year, Iranian short film 'AniMal', directed by Bahman and Bahram Ark won the best short film award (Golden Cat Award) at the 18th edition of the Turkish festival.

Izmir International Short Film Festival has retained its position as one of the greatest events in the field of movie in Turkey and it will meet with its audience for the 17th time this year.

It is the first film festival that gives international awards for short films. It began in 2000 and since then it has been one of the most esteemed festivals for movie lovers.
