Iranian documentary wins Italy festival special award

Ilam, An Iranian documentary has won the special award of the 21st Gran Paradiso Film Festival in Italy.

In the festival held earlier in August in Italian Alps highlands the documentary Ranger and Leopard, made jointly by Fathollah Amiri and Nima Asgari, won the special award.

The documentary is about an enthusiastic devoted Iranian ranger who is searching for a leopard that is allegedly roaming in a protected sanctuary in Isfahan, Amiri told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

The film has previously won awards, including that of People and Nature Film category in Jackson Hole festival, award for the best director in Truth Film Festival, Special Jury Award in the Japanese Green Image.
