Iranian karatekas bag 8 medals in FISU World Champs

Tehran, Iranian karate fighters received a gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals in 2018 International University Sports Federation (FISU) World University Karate Championship.

In men Kumite category, Saleh Abazari in the weight category of +84kg defeated Japanese rival 4-1 and snatched a gold medal.

Ali Meskini in the weight category of -60 kg received a bronze medal.

In -67 kg weight category, Mahdi Rahimi Nejad hit Australia 9-0 and bagged a bronze medal.

In women category, Melika Ahadi snatched a bronze medal.

The Federation Internationale du Sport Universitaire is responsible for the organization and governance of worldwide sports competitions for student-athletes between the ages of 17 and 28.
