Iranian Men, Women Both Win Gold Medals In Kabaddi At Asian Games

Iran has won both the men's and women's kabaddi title at the Asian Games in Jakarta.

Tehran's women's team defeated India on August 24 by 27-24, one day after the Iranian men's team stunned India by defeating the seven-time champion in the semifinals.

The Iranian men's team late on August 24 put an even more convincing end to India's dominance in the sport by clinching a gold medal with a lopsided 26-16 victory over South Korea in the final game of the event.

Kabaddi is a sport that combines aspects of tag and tackle with wrestling moves.

It has long been dominated by India.
