Iranian men’s kabaddi team wins gold medal at 2018 Asian Games

Jakarta, Iranian men's kabaddi team defeated South Korea 26-16 on Friday in the finals of 2018 Asian Games kabaddi competitions to win the gold medal.

This is the first time that Iranian men win the gold medal of Asian Games kabaddi competitions.

On its way to the final game, the Iranian team defeated Japan, Pakistan, Nepal, Malaysia, Indonesia and India.

Iranian national men's kebaddi team ranked 2nd both in the 17th Asian Games (Incheon 2014) and the 16th Asian Games (Guangzhou 2010).

Earlier in the day, Iranian national women's kabaddi team defeated heavyweight India 27-24 in the final game of competitions to win its first gold medal in the history of Asian Games.

The 18th Asian Games is being held in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang from August 18 to September 2.

The Iranian squad has bagged 31 different medals in the event so far.
