Iranian minister arrives in Jakarta for Asian Para Games
Jakarta, Iran's Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports has arrived in Indonesia's Jakarta to attend the opening ceremony of the 3rd Asian Para Games.
Masoud Soltanifar, who is among the special guests to attend the major international sport event, arrived in Jakarta at 15:00 local time on Saturday.
Soltanifar was welcomed by Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia Valiollah Mohammadi Nasrabadi.
Fariba Mohammadian, Women's Deputy Minister of Sports, and Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, the president of the National Paralympics Committee, also welcomed Iran's Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The opening ceremony will start in Jakarta at 19:00 local time.
Soltanifar is scheduled to meet Indonesia's Minister of Youth and Sports at the opening ceremony.
Taking a tour in the Olympic Village, visiting the camps for athletes and watching sporting events are among the Iranian minister's plans during his trip to Jakarta.
He will leave Jakarta for Tehran on Tuesday afternoon.
The 3rd Asian Para Games which is hosted by Jakarta will take place from 6th-13th October.
A total of 2,880 athletes from 41 countries will compete against each other in 18 sports.
