Iranian minister arrives in Turkey for Erdogan’s inauguration
Ankara, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari arrived in Turkey on Monday to attend the presidential oath taking ceremony of Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Now that Erdogan’s victory in the election (June 24) has been confirmed by the country’s electoral board, he will be sworn in as the new president of Turkey in the Parliament, and then he will host heads of state from 50 countries in his inauguration ceremony.
Also, today, the executive system of Turkey’s government will officially make the transition from parliamentary to a presidential system. The new system was put to a referendum last year.
Under the new system, Erdogan will be the head of cabinet for a five-year-term.
Erdogan has said that he would also propose his cabinet through a press conference later today.
