Iranian official regrets efforts to hamper peace process in Syria, Yemen
Tehran, Urging the need to focus on finding a political solution to the crises in Syria and Yemen, Iran's Majlis (Parliament) Speaker's special aide Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Monday regretted about efforts by certain countries to hinder peace process in the war-torn countries.
Regretfully, the countries that have their interests in war are preventing the escalation of hostilities and establishment of ceasefire in these countries, Amir-Abdollahian said speaking during a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Iran Levan Dzhagaryan.
He described the recent deadly chemical attack by terrorist groups in Aleppo, Syria as a sad incident, adding that the attack has been organized by the supporters of war and insecurity in the region.
The Russian ambassador, for his part, urged the need for finding an immediate end to the wars in Syria and Yemen.
The humanitarian conditions in Yemen are not proper at all, Dzhagaryan said.
He said that Syria peace talks in Astana have progressed very well and need to be continued until finding a suitable political solution.
He noted that military solutions will not work by any means.
