Iranian parliament speaker sympathizes with Spain on terrorist attacks
Tehran, Aug 18, Iranian parliament (Majlis) speaker on Friday sympathized with the Spain people, government and parliament on terrorist attacks in the country which claimed the lives of 13 people.
'Such inhumane actions demonstrate spread of unrest, violence and blind terrorism in the world today and proves the importance of global consensus for decisive action against terrorism,' Ali Larijani said in messages cabled to President of the Spain Congress of Deputies Ana Maria Pastor Julian and President of the Spain Senate Pio Garcia-Escudero.
Larijani said that 'These incidents are the result of some wealthy and powerful countries' wrong support for terrorist and extremist groups.'
He voiced hope that terrorists' sponsors are awakened by the consequences of their encouragement for them and cut their support for terrorists.
Larijani expressed hope that with establishment of peace and security and eradication of terrorists across the world, such inhumane actions are not repeated again.
Barcelona was the scene of a deadly terrorist attack, claimed by Daesh (ISIS), on Thursday night in which a car rammed into pedestrians, killing 13 people and injuring more than 100.
In another attack the same night Spanish police were targeted at a check point.
On Friday morning, just hours after the previous attacks, six people were hurt when a car drove into them in Cambrils, 120 kilometres south of Barcelona.
