Iranian physician wins Kuwait award for controlling diabetes

Doha, The special award of Kuwait government was given to an Iranian specialist for invaluable research on diabetes.

The prize was awared by Kuwait deputy head of healthcare services at the country's Ministry of Health, Fawaz Ihsan, to Dr. Mohammad-Ebrahim Khamseh on the sidelines of regional meeting of World Health Organization in Sudan.

Khamseh is the head of Endocrine Glands center at Iran University of Medical Sciences.

The award has been given to the specialists, scientists and dedicated people who have been conducting valuable research on controlling cancer, diabetes and heart and cardiovascular disease since 2013.

The State of Kuwait Prize for the Control of Cancer, Cardiovascular Diseases and Diabetes in the Eastern Mediterranean Region is one of several Foundation awards, administered by the WHO.
